Lynn's Experience

After qualifying as an occupational therapist Lynn initially worked within the NHS’ psychiatric and physical fields, going onto specialise in the fields of upper limb disability, neurology and the elderly.

Through this work, she became really interested in the mental health aspects of physical disability, consequently, went onto train as a counsellor and psychotherapist (Transactional Analysis and CBT – 5 areas, and more recently as an NLP, Time-Line therapy and hypnotherapy practitioner). Lynn then started her own counselling business, alongside her NHS work.

After making her way up the occupational therapy ranks, Lynn became an occupational therapy manager in the Countess of Chester NHS Trust. However, whilst she really enjoyed the job and working with the team, she missed working with clients, so after a few years she returned to being a clinician.

Over the last ten years, Lynn has worked within private sector businesses specialising in vocational rehabilitation (the field of health and work) and completed an MSc Vocational Rehabilitation in 2017.

Presently, she works part-time for a private company, who specialise in insurance contracts, treating clients who have suffered catastrophic injuries, they also have a return to work contract. Within this company, Lynn focuses on upper limb rehabilitation, and the mental health aspects of the return to work/remain in work contract.

Lynn also runs her own business Inspire Health, which includes occupational therapy, vocational rehabilitation and psychotherapy services, providing services for both individuals and business. Please refer to coaching services and therapy services sections for more details.
