Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapy provides practical support to empower people to manage disability, or facilitate recovery and overcome the barriers that prevent people from doing the activities that are important to them.

An occupational therapist will consider a person’s strengths, abilities and health needs. They will find out what your goals are, and what you need to be able to do and they can then find ways to make life easier and support you to manage daily tasks and activities. This might include support with self-care, household chores, getting out and about, finding or staying in work or education, or taking part in social and leisure activities.

For example, are you an individual, who is frustrated by your own physical limitations and don’t know how to improve your independence in your daily activities, i.e. personal care, and leisure activities. If so,  an occupational therapist can assist in your rehabilitation, provide advice on techniques or equipment. They may also recommend referral to other services, i.e. social groups, social services.

Occupational therapy will increase your independence, thereby maximising your potential in the areas that matter to you.

If this resonates with you and you would like to explore how we could work together, drop me a line in the contact section and we can arrange a convenient time to have a free chat to explore how we could work together.
